Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass
So, you’re looking for support in your healing with someone who understands that liberation from oppressive systems and returning to our most human capacities to be in relationship with our Planet, each other and ourselves is the only way forward? Welcome!
.
We are, as humans, in a time of great transformation. On a global level, we are re-awakening to our power as The People, and the necessity of being in right relationship with Mother Earth and each other. Transformation requires both the radical imagination of new paradigms, and the radical grief of letting go of old ones. These growing pains are often reflective of ones we have experienced in our own bodies and life stories through trauma, powerless conflict, disempowerment, attachment wounds, dissociation, and disconnection from the relationships that keep us whole.
.
We are relational beings who need to be in full participation with our physical and social ecosystems. Our current paradigms of “support” would try to convince you that there is something wrong with you when you struggle to process the depravity of racial capitalism, genocide, patriarchy, global colonization, sexual violence, greed, and other systemic social harms. We are not meant to live with the pain of such violence, and all the ways these harms are replicated in our interpersonal and community relationships. We are meant to be free!
.
I don’t believe clinical diagnoses and medications are the ultimate medicines for our pain. Therefore I do not offer diagnoses or work towards connecting you with solutions rooted in the medical system (though I support your access to affirming care for neurodivergence and gender euphoria). Instead, I work with you like a midwife/doula for your transformation, guiding you towards your humanity, your internal and community resources, your relationships with Planet and People, and your innate creativity. I take a spiritual approach where we welcome our grief and orient towards joy as the natural balance for healing. We will partner to become familiar with your cycles of transformation and change, let go of the defenses you’ve built against harm that no longer support or protect you, and tend the vulnerability it takes for interdependence and connection.
.
I work best with people who are ready for depth work, possibly with previous experience in therapy or other healing modalities, and take initiative in their healing. I do not work with folks in active addiction or unmanaged mental health crisis. If you are looking for support for these, please refer to my “CRISIS RESOURCES” page.
